‘We will miss this Kalesh’ – Fans disheartened as Virat Kohli’s final face-off with James Anderson denied as the former set to miss entire Test series
As Indian Cricket Board confirmed that Virat Kohli won’t be available for the remaining three Test matches against England. This is the first time that Virat Kohli is missing a whole Test series at home. After the squad announcement for the remaining 3 matches, Indian cricket team fans’ hearts were broken.
Virat Kohli has decided to withdraw his name from the team due to personal reasons. Virat Kohli has made himself unavailable for the first two Tests due to personal reasons. England won the series opener against India in Hyderabad. In the second match of the Test series, India won by 106 against England. With the series levelled at 1-1 both India and England are heading to Rajkot for the third Test match which will start from the 15th of February.
Cricket lovers were eager to witness the battle between Kohli and England fast bowler James Anderson. Their rivalry was one of the biggest battles in the series. Many cricket fans describe it as the ‘last dance’ as it will last time James Anderson will be playing in India. This rivalry started in 2014. He struggled against Anderson in England.

James Anderson managed to get him four times in that Test series. But in the 2018 India tour of England, Kohli had the upper hand and was a way better batsman than he was in 2014. Anderson could not get the wicket of Kohli this time. In the last two tours to India James Anderson failed to get the wicket of Virat Kohli.
Till now James Anderson has taken 695 wickets in Test cricket. He is just 5 wickets away from becoming the first fast bowler to take 700 Test wickets. For James Anderson India is his favorite team as he has grabbed the most wickets against India. He has played 37 matches and has picked 144 wickets with an average of 24.56. Kohli’s average against James Anderson is 43 in Test cricket. James Anderson has dismissed Virat Kohli 7 times in 25 Test matches. In those 7 dismissals, six have come in England.
