3. Hayley Matthews (Mumbai)
On number three, we have a batter known for her big-hitting capabilities. West Indians have always been lovers of the shortest format of the game. As such, their opener Hayley Matthews is no different. She had a great tournament in the recently concluded Women’s 20-20 World Cup and would be looking to continue the same form in the Women’s T20 League as well.
She scored a fifty in the warm-up game against Sri Lanka. She scored another half-century against the Ireland team. However, her run has been a bit inconsistent, scoring just a couple against India and 20 against Pakistan. However, these are minor issues and West Indians’ association with franchise cricket suggests that she could end up being an immediate hit in the upcoming tournament.
