In what comes as shocking news, Wriddhiman Saha went on to share a screenshot where a journalist apparently threatened him. He took to Twitter to share this screenshot. In the WhatsApp chat, an anonymous journalist can be seen speaking rudely to him as well.

As the keeper-batter was upset, he posted the screenshot. Several Twitter users came in support of him. In the caption, Saha even criticized the state of journalism in the country.

“After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone,” read Wriddhiman Saha’s Tweet. It is to be noted that the Bengal cricketer last played a Test for India during the two-match Test series against New Zealand at home last year.

As a matter of fact, Saha scored a 61 in the first Test at Kanpur as well. However, after the emergence of Rishabh Pant, he hasn’t been a regular face in the Indian team. Thus, the 37-year-old recently went on to make some bold claims as well.

He said that the team management had told him that he won’t be considered for selection anymore. Saha even stated that Rahul Dravid, who is currently India’s head coach, had asked him to think about taking retirement. “The team management had told me that I would not be considered henceforth. I could not tell this so long as I was part of the India team setup. Even coach Rahul Dravid suggested that I think about taking retirement,” he said in a press conference as quoted by News18.

It is to be noted that Saha was dropped from India’s Test squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Not only him, but the likes of Ishant Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane were dropped as well. The Test series between the two sides is all set to start on March 4.
