3. Karrion Kross:
In his time in NXT, Kross demonstrated that he can compete with the greatest. Sadly, he failed to demonstrate this in his first stint on the main roster and was fired in late 2021. He didn’t need to be gone from WWE for very long, though, as he joined them again in the summer of 2022. Upon returning, he faced Roman Reigns. He would leave clues over the following several months that he was aiming for the top spot.
