Noted professional wrestler, Edge (real name- Adam Copeland) is reportedly on his way to All Elite Wrestling. The 49-year-old former WWE Champion last wrestled on the WWE Smackdown show against Sheamus in front of his home crowd in Toronto. The match which took place last Saturday saw Edge come out victorious much to the delight of the capacity crowd in Ontario, Canada.

There is speculation regarding the future of the man called the Rated R Superstar. Edge is in his final month with World Wrestling Entertainment. There is huge speculation regarding the next move for perhaps one of the most decorated superstars of the current era in professional wrestling.

Is Edge heading to AEW?

As per Pro Wrestling Torch, Edge could be well on his way to All Elite Wrestling. The Jacksonville, Florida-based promotions are already stacked with huge names such as Kenny Omega, Young Bucks, and current champion MJF. Tony Khan owned the company and also has known former WWE names such as CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson, and Edge’s former tag team partner Christian Cage.

In the case of Edge moving to AEW, this will not be the first time such talks have taken place. There were rumors of Edge signing with the Tony Khan-owned organization in 2019. Edge eventually made a shocking return in early 2020 during the WWE Royal Rumble event ending his nearly-nine-year absence from the ring. Edge had retired in 2011 just one day after WrestleMania 27, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.

It is believed, that Edge had conversations with senior figures behind the scenes at WWE about his contract. The 49-year-old also seemingly had proposed a few ideas for his character going forward. WWE though decided to pass up on the chance and pave the way for Edge to join AEW once his contract is up next month.

Since the formation of All Elite Wrestling, plenty of WWE stars have jumped ship with the first notable name being Chris Jericho and later Jon Moxley (also known as Dean Ambrose). The addition of Edge will be a huge acquisition for AEW because of the star quality and global appeal he brings to the brand.

It is believed that both Edge and WWE despite their failure to come to terms on agreement to a new contract will part ways amicably. Edge will also have a chance to take on some of the best talents in AEW, like MJF and Jon Moxley as well as a dream match against fellow Canadian star Kenny Omega. There is also a chance that the Edge and Christian tag team could get re-formed to take on real-life good friends FTR and the Young Bucks.
