‘Ye kisi din pitega kisi team se’ – Fans troll Aakash Chopra for his hilarious prediction ahead of MI vs CSK clash
Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets on Saturday at the Wankhede stadium to register their second win in IPL 2023. However, MI suffered their second consecutive loss in the season in both matches they played.
However, fans have been trolling Aakash Chopra for his prediction ahead of the clash between MI and CSK. The former cricketer predicted that MI will win the game. He also predicted that Jofra Archer and Deepak Chahar will share more than 3 wickets among each other. However, both Archer wasn’t the part of MI’s playing XI, while Chahar had to leave the field after suffering from a hamstring injury after bowling just one over without taking any wicket.
“Jofra and Chahar will together pick up three or more wickets. Deepak Chahar has had an extremely ordinary tournament thus far but it will not remain so. This is the surface that will bring the best out of him. So I am saying he will pick up at least one or two wickets,” said Chopra in a video on his Youtube channel.
“10 or more sixes should be hit. We come here with the expectation of a high-scoring encounter. You definitely see a chasing bias at the Wankhede. Whoever wins the toss will bowl. Having said that, I think sixes should be hit. I am saying that Mumbai will finally open their account,” he further said.
CSK registered a comfortable victory against MI
However, the match took a completely different turn from Chopra’s prediction as CSK registered a comfortable victory against MI. Batting first, MI posted a total of 157 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, powered by knocks of Ishan Kishan (32 off 21) and Tim David (31 off 22). Ravindra Jadeja scalped 3 wickets by conceding 20 runs in his four overs.
Chasing the winning total, CSK lost Devon Conway for a duck in the very first over. After that, Ajinkya Rahane took charge and got out after smashing 61 runs off 27 balls with seven fours and three sixes. CSK chased the winning total in 18.1 overs losing 3 wickets.
