Delhi Capitals have found their winning ways in IPL 2023 as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets in match number 50 of the season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Choosing to bat first, RCB posted a total of 181 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. In reply, DC batters showed carnage as they smashed 187 runs losing 3 wickets in just 16.4 overs.

RCB got a great start as the skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli added 82 runs for the first wicket in 10.3 overs. Du Plessis got out after scoring 45 runs off 32 balls hitting five fours and a maximum. Mitchell Marsh dismissed him to give DC the first breakthrough. On the very next delivery, Marsh struck he dismissed Glenn Maxwell for a golden duck to scalp consecutive wickets.

After that, Kohli and Mahipal Lomror took the innings further by putting up a partnership of 55 runs for the third wicket. Kohli went on to score his sixth half-century of the season as he got out after scoring 55 runs off 46 balls hitting five boundaries. On the other hand, Lomror remained unbeaten after smashing 54 runs off 29 balls with six fours and three sixes to take RCB past 180. For DC, Marsh scalped 2 wickets, while, Khaleel Ahmed and Mukesh Kumar shared a wicket each.

DC batters started taking charge from the first ball

Chasing the winning total, DC had a flying start as skipper David Warner and Phil Salt added 60 runs for the first wicket in 5.1 overs. Warner got out after scoring 22 off 14 with three fours and a maximum. After that, Salt added another 59 runs with Mitchell Marsh for the second wicket. Marsh got out after scoring 26 off 17 with three fours and one six. On the other hand, Salt went on to score his first half-century of the season. The English batter got out after smashing 87 runs off 45 balls hitting eight fours and six sixes taking the the game away from RCB.

Rilee Rossouw remained unbeaten on 35 runs off 22 balls and finished the game with a six in the 17th over by Maxwell, as DC registered their fourth win of the season with 20 balls to spare. For RCB, Karn Sharma, Harshal Patel and Josh Hazlewood took 1-1 wickets each.
