‘You are a fighter’ – Indian players, head coach Rahul Dravid wish Rishabh Pant for his speedy recovery
Rishabh Pant, the Indian batter, met with an accident on December 30 on his way back to the dressing room from Dehradun to Delhi and much to the dolefulness of the Indian fans, the southpaw was admitted to the Max hospital in Dehradun. The left-handed batter was shifted to the private ward from the ICU on January 2, 2023, Monday and it came as a sigh of relief for his fans who were concerned about his health.
On Tuesday, the Indian cricket board released a video with the squad set to take on Sri Lanka on the day of the first T20I wishing the batter, a speedy recovery. Rahul Dravid, the head coach of the team India, features first in the video followed by the likes of Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and ace India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
“Hey Rishabh, hope you are doing well. Over the one last year I have had the privilege of seeing you play some of the greatest innings played in Indian cricket Test history. Whenever we have been in difficult situations, I know you have got that character and got the ability to get yourself out very difficult situations. This is just one such challenge and I know you are going to bounce back like you have done so many times this (last) year. Look forward to having you back soon buddy,” Dravid was quoted as saying in the video.
You will kind of break all the doors: Hardik Pandya
The Indian captain Pandya, wished the southpaw to make a comeback at the earliest by breaking all the doors. Highlighting Pant’s ability to withstand any kind of situation, the team India skipper said that the team is with the Indian wicketkeeper at present, when he is going through one of the toughest phases of all time.
“Hi Rishabh! just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery. I know you have been a fighter and things are not as what you would have liked but life is like that and I know the kind of person you are. You will kind of break all the doors and make a comeback as what you have always done. My love and wishes are always with you and the whole team and the whole nation is nehid you. Get well soon by brother,” Pandya was quoted as saying.
“Jaldi se theek ho kar aa jao saath mey chauke chakke maarte hai (Get well soon and will hit four and sixes together). Take care my brother,” Chahal said, while Ishan Kishan was quoted as saying, “Hi Rishabh! We all miss you here in the Indian cricket team. All we can do here is wish you a very speedy recovery and I know you are a fighter and you will be back very soon and much stronger.”
