India’s young sensation Shubman Gill is currently in red-hot form in the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League and the fans would love to see Gill continuing his tremendous form in the upcoming Test Championship final as well. India is set to clash against Australia at the Oval on June 7 and Gill will be a key player as he will be opening the innings with skipper Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, Gill recently opened up about getting compared with the former legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and said that Sachin, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma have inspired different generations. He appreciated the 3 legends for carrying their legacies for a long time which inspired him a lot.

“See it’s great when people see it but I don’t really see it that way because the generation that all of these people Sachin sir, Virat bhai, and Rohit Sharma have inspired is beyond. There may not be a Sachin Tendulkar had we not won the 1983 World Cup… had we not won the 2011 world cup would I be as inspired, maybe or maybe not. So, these kinds of legacies, things kind of things are immortal. you can’t really define their legacies,” Gill was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Will Shubman Gill be able to keep up this purple patch for long?

The 23-year-old has scored 851 runs in the 15 matches he has played so far in IPL 2023 and also is holding the orange cup. He also became the only Indian batter after Kohli to score more than 800 runs in a single season in the cash-rich league which is a huge achievement at this age. He has also smashed 3 centuries in the league.

Gill is also likely to be the first choice who will be opening with Rohit in the ODI World Cup which will take place in October and will be hosted by India. It is being said by many cricket experts that if Gill keeps away from serious career-threatening injuries, he can be the upcoming great batter of the world.
