‘2023 will start with a bang’ – Fans praises Indian selectors for choosing right players for white-ball series against Sri Lanka

On December 27, the Indian Cricket Board announced the T20I and ODI squad for the white-ball series against Sri Lanka. Notably, with only a week left and no selection committee in place, the ousted panel chose the players. Meanwhile, the ousted committee has made some bold changes to the team. Hardik Pandya has been alleviated as vice-captain although KL Rahul would be on a break due to his wedding during the T20I series.

On the other hand, the former will once again lead the T20I side. The likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for the series. Notable, the duo will not play any T20I cricket in the near future and would concentrate on bigger formats. Rohit will lead the team in the ODI series. On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav has been promoted to vice-captain of the team.

It is believed that due to KL Rahul’s current form, he has been dropped as the vice-captain. Also, the likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant have been dropped. The former, who only plays ODI cricket, has been shown the door. On the other hand, Pant has been dropped from both sides.
