After winning the last fixture against Delhi Capitals (DC) by 23 runs at their home ground, Royal Challengers Bangalore locked horns against the four times champion, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 24th fixture of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the M. Chinnaswammy Stadium, in Bangalore. Super Kings won the match by eight runs and Devon Conway was awarded the Player of the Match for his brilliant performance.

If we talk about the encounter, the RCB skipper, Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to ball first. Batting first, the visitors scored a total of 226 runs with the loss of six wickets after the completion of the first innings. The highest scorer for the side was Conway who scored 83 runs off 45 balls which included six fours and six sixes. Shivam Dube also scored crucial 52 runs from just 27 balls with five massive sixes and two fours.

Tushar Deshpande and Matheesha Pathirana guided Chennai Super Kings to victory

For RCB, one wicket each was snapped by every bowler in the side which included Mohammad Siraj, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Glenn Maxwell, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Harshal Patel where they conceded 30 runs, 48 runs, 62 runs, 28 runs, 21 runs, and 36 runs respectively in their spells.

While chasing a mammoth total of 227 runs, the home side was able to score 218 runs with the loss of eight wickets. The highest run-getter for the team was Maxwell who scored 76 runs off just 36 balls with eight brilliant sixes and three fours. Du Plessis also scored an important knock of 62 runs from 33 balls which included five fours and four sixes,

The pick of the bowler for CSK was Tushar Deshpande who grabbed three wickets in his spell of four overs where he conceded 45 runs in his spell. Two wickets were bagged by Matheesha Pathirana who conceded 42 runs in his spell of four overs. One wicket each was taken by Akash Singh, Maheesh Theekshana, and Moeen Ali where they conceded 35 runs, 41 runs, and 13 runs respectively in their spells.
