Ishan Kishan – ₹15.25 crore
This young batter missed a spot from the final squad for the 20-20 World Cup of India. However, in the last auction of the Indian T20 League, he became the second-most expensive Indian buy ever in the history of that tournament. Mumbai franchise bought him for Rs 15.25 crore. However, he failed to prove his worth with performance.
He scored 418 runs in 14 matches, at an average of 32.15. In those innings, Ishan Kishan managed three fifties only. Meanwhile, earlier this year, he played well against the Proteas in the home T20I series. But, after that, he failed to perform at a consistent level. Therefore, selectors did not find a place for him in the squad for the World Cup in Australia.
