While India selected him as an option in those series. But, on 17 September, the news came that he got infected with Covid-19. Hence, Board announced that veteran pacer Umesh Yadav will replace him. Mohammed Siraj
This bowler is currently busy playing the County Championship Division One in England for Warwickshire. He also showed great performance by taking five wickets in the first match. But, in the shortest format of the game, he last played against Sri Lanka on 27 February 2022 in Dharamsala.
However, in the last edition of the Indian T20 League, Mohammed Siraj did not have a great season for his franchise. Still, he managed to produce some good performances in the recently concluded ODI series in England, West Indies, and Zimbabawe. Thus, selectors could look at him as an option instead of Umesh Yadav.
