‘Aj bhi 1980 ma jee rha ha world richest board’ – Fans react as mismanagement at Narendra Modi Stadium ahead of IPL Qualifier 2 causes chaos among fans
On May 28 (Sunday), the final game of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to take place at Ahmedabad’s iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. Cricket fans criticized the IPL committee and the official online ticket seller for forcing them to pick up their tickets at the Motera Stadium. A large crowd had already arrived at the location when the situation began to get out of control.
“Don’t know exactly what happened. We are keeping a tab on the situation. We are in touch with the GCA for assistance. We are in talks with the ticketing partner to see if e-ticket can be valid,” an Indian Cricket Board official was quoted as saying to InsideSport.
CSK will face either MI or GT in IPL 2023 Finals
It should be noted that Paytm is the IPL 2023’s official online ticketing partner. Fans have the opportunity to buy tickets for their preferred seats through the supplier, who will then mail the tickets to the buyer’s specified location.
The purchaser occasionally gets the choice to pick up the tickets at the venue itself. It appears that Paytm did not mail tickets and instructed all purchasers to pick them up at the stadium instead. As a result, a commotion broke out at the stadium, and supporters vented their frustration on social media.
The greatest participants in Indian cricket, the spectators, were scammed when they realized that they had to physically collect their tickets. In a video shared on Twitter, a fan was heard noting that despite having paid the convenience charge to the ticketing service, he was still at the stadium waiting in queue to pick up a paper copy of his ticket in order to see the final.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 1 to secure their position in the final. In Qualifier 2, Titans will play Mumbai Indians (MI), and the winner of that game will face CSK in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium. Prior to this, MI had defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator to get to the playoff round.
Here’s how fans reacted after seeing the chaos and mismanagement outside the Narendra Modi Stadium for IPL 2023 Tickets:
The bad is that the stadium is made in the outskirts of Ahmedabad… ive been to the stadium. Its in a small town, where you’ve to pass through tiny lanes to get through. I myself got saved from a stampede. The stadium is spectacular but the way to get to it is horrid.

BCCI is made on the backs of Indian fans.
These things happening for international matches as well as IPL.
Maybe it is time for fans to show their power and let BCCI know about the immediate actions to be taken.— Dvij Butkar (@dvijbutkar) May 26, 2023
Pathetic. Unfortunately, no one talks about these kind of stuffs
