‘Babar Azam is going to have a lot of difficulty facing him’ – Former India batter’s analysis ahead of IND vs PAK clash

Former India all-rounder Mohammad Kaif recently analysed the Indian Cricket Team’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami’s performance and the impact he can create on the Pakistan’s Skipper Babar Azam. Babar Azam played a brilliant knock in Pakistan’s first game of the Asia Cup against Nepal at Multan, as he scored 151 runs off 131 deliveries, to lead Pakistan to a score of 342 runs.

India and Pakistan will lock horns for the first time this year on 2 September, Saturday at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy, Sri Lanka. Looking at Babar Azam’s performance in the first game of the Asia Cup Mohammad Kaif believes the Indian team needs to set their plans accordingly. However, Kaif says there is one pacer in front of whom, Babar Azam might face difficulties and have a tough time.

“Mohammed Shami is a fantastic bowler, his form is also very good. And even in Bumrah’s absence, he managed the bowling very well. Even his form in the IPL was great. So he has a lot of talent. In my opinion, Babar Azam is going to have a lot of difficulty facing Mohammed Shami”, said Mohammad Kaif.

Mohammed Shami discusses India’s Plans for Asia Cup 2023

Mohammed Shami recently talked about giving his hundred percent on the field while going ahead for a game, which will result in the victory following the team’s path on its own. He also briefly talked about the stellar performances given by his co-pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, making India’s fast bowling unit a strong entity.

“I don’t have any hesitancy to bowl with the new ball or the old ball. I don’t have an ego like that. All three of us (Bumrah, Shami & Siraj) are bowling very well, so it depends on the management on who will play. There is only one goal, to go and give our 100%, the result will come running to us if we give our 100%. So it is very important to focus and execute, it’s a very simple plan,” said Mohammed Shami.
