 Kandy weather update: Rain likely to spoil India vs Pakistan clash in Asia Cup 2023

It is India vs Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023, arch-rivals will be up against each other in the continental championship, and both powerhouses of cricket will be up against each other after a thriller encounter in T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. It is pertinent to mention that this will be the third game of the tournament.

Babar Azam-led side is coming from the win in the first game against Nepal, while Men in Blue will be playing their first game in the tournament, but as the weather forecast predicted rain is likely to spoil the party in the Kandy for the most anticipated clash of the tournament. 

As per the Meteorological Department, there is a prediction of 80 per cent rain at the Pallekele stadium from mid-afternoon to evening, but as per the sources  the weather in Kandy is not looking good and the rain has started drizzle but on the contrary to this in the morning weather was looking pleasant with no sign of race.

The weather department has predicted the humidity will be around 89 per cent with a cloud cover of 98 per cent in the Kandy, The toss is scheduled to be 2.30 pm IST, but the chance of rain has come down to 60 percent in the afternoon. In the end, Asia Cup 2023 started with the first two matches, as Pakistan won the opening game against Nepal in Multan and Sri Lanka won the game against Bangladesh. 

Men in Green skipper Babar Azam scored 151 runs to help his side to win the opening game of Asia Cup 2023, the Men in Green won the first encounter against Nepal by 238 runs. Now India will be playing against Pakistan on September 2 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. This edition of the continental championship is organized in a 50-over format fixture considering the upcoming World Cup 2023, which is set to be organized in India on October 5.
