At the India Cements Ltd Cricket Ground in Tirunelveli, Lyca Kovai Kings defeated the Nellai Royal Kings to win the final of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). From the beginning, the Lyca Kovai Kings took control of the game. Sujay began the match with a boundary in the first ball after deciding to bat first. Sandeep Warrier hit him in the front, and he immediately left.

J Suresh Kumar started the innings with a six, which he slammed over midwicket, and he quickly reached the 50-run mark in only 28 balls. U Mukilesh gave support to Suresh from the other end by acting as an anchor and picking up speed toward the end of the innings. In the 12th over, Sonu Yadav ended the partnership by sending back Suresh for 57 (33).

Lyca Kovai Kings skipper, Shahrukh Khan was unable to contribute in the match and was dismissed for seven runs which he scored in five balls he faced in the match. Thanks to Atheeq Ur Rahman’s strong batting (50 off 21 balls), Lyca Kovai Kings completed the 150 runs in the 16th over and added 55 more in the last four. On the other end, Mukilesh supplied the essential assistance with 51*(40).

After 20 overs, Lyca Kovai Kings scored 205 for 5. Sonu and Warrier both snapped two wickets for the Nellai Royal Kings, and Mohan Prasath took one. In the span of two deliveries, Nellai Royal Kings lost R Sri Neranjan and Ajitesh Guruswamy while trying to chase a mammoth total of 205 runs to win. The skipper Arun Karthick started off well strong but was not able to capitalize on the start, as he scored 23 runs. He was unable to continue scoring as Shahrukh Khan dismissed him in the fifth over. Later, after Nidhish Rajagopal was dismissed, Shahrukh Khan was named the season’s Ather Purple Cap holder.

The team lost its control under pressure after his dismissal and was unable to bounce back. Rithik Easwaran and Sonu, the players who clinched Qualifier 2 for Nellai Royal Kings, were both dismissed by Jhathavedh Subramanyan in his subsequent deliveries, and Harish was also removed from the game in his subsequent over.

Mohan Prasath was then dismissed by Mohammed, and Jhathavedh took his fourth wicket by dismissing Suryaprakash. M Poiyamozhi was sent back to the pavilion after smashing three sixes in a row.  Jhathavedh was the best bowler for the team, as he finished with figures of 4 for 21. Shahrukh Khan completed his four overs with three for sixteen, and he was the second-best bowler for the team.
