On 4 September 2022, India is going to face Pakistan in Dubai for their first game in the Super four of the Asia Cup 2022. Earlier on the group stage, they both clashed with each other. However, India won that thriller by five wickets. Hardik Pandya was the player of the match for his all-around contribution with both bat and the ball.

But, both India and Pakistan managed to qualify for the next round of this year’s Asia Cup. Before the start of the tournament, India dealt a major blow. They confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah will not play in the tournament for his back injury. Now, on 2 September 2022, Ravindra Jadeja also sustained an injury to his right knee. Hence, he also got ruled out of the remaining tournament. Axar Patel joined the team as his replacement.

Meanwhile, on the eve of that clash, Rahul Dravid said that Avesh Khan is not quite well due to a fever. Hence, India was in a spot of trouble regarding their playing XI against Pakistan. On the other side, Pakistan also got the news of Dahani’s injury. His injury got him ruled out of the tournament also. Therefore, all eyes were on both the captains as they will speak about their playing XI during the toss. However, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the toss and he opted to bowl first. He said that Hasnain has replaced Dahani in the playing XI. For India, Rohit confirmed three changes from their last playing XI against Hong Kong. India included Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, and Ravi Bishnoi. But, this decision ensured that India kept out Avesh Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, and Dinesh Karthik. 

They went with Rishabh Pant as their keeper instead of the veteran Dinesh Karthik. However, this decision came as a shock for fans as India opted for Karthik ahead of Pant in the earlier two games. Hence, they became confused and shared their views on the decision on social media platforms.
