Chief Executive Warren Deutrom confirms India’s tour to Ireland in August

Cricket Ireland announced on Tuesday that the Indian cricket team will visit their nation for a T20I series before the major event in an ODI World Cup year, and on the day the Apex Cricket Council released the eagerly anticipated schedule for the tournament which will be held in India later in October of this year.

The Chief Executive of Cricket Ireland, Warren  Deutrom released a statement in which he confirmed the news that the Indian Cricket Team will be travelling to the Irish soil in August for a series of three T20 matches.

“We’re delighted to welcome India Men back to Ireland for the second time in 12 months. We saw two sold-out matches in 2022, so to have a three-match series this year should give even more fans the opportunity to enjoy what is always a memorable occasion. Our sincere thanks to the BCCI, first, for their continued inclusion of Ireland in the Indian team’s busy itinerary and also for working with us to ensure as fan-friendly a schedule,” Warren Deutrom told as per reported by Hindustan Times.

The last time when India toured Ireland both the T20 matches in the series were won by the visitors. Currently, Ireland are playing in the ODI World Cup Qualifier 2023 in which the Ireland team suffered a major setback, as they failed to reach the Super Six round of the Qualifiers in Zimbabwe. The Irish finished fourth in Group B after the league round, winning only one of their four games.

Here’s the full fixture of India’s tour of Ireland:

18 August: Ireland Men v India Men – 1st T20I (Malahide; start time 3pm local time/7:30 PM IST)

20 August: Ireland Men v India Men – 2nd T20I (Malahide; start time 3pm local time/7:30 PM IST)

23 August: Ireland Men v India Men – 3rd T20I (Malahide; start time 3pm local time/7:30 PM IST)
