The India vs. Afghanistan T20I series is about to start on January 11, and Ishan Kishan’s exclusion from the team has become a topic of discussion. This came as huge news for the fans, who were expecting him in the squad as he had performed well in the previous series. A few months prior, Ishan had taken a break from the South Africa series due to mental fatigue. However, as per the Indian Express report, the selectors have dropped Kishan on disciplinary grounds.
A source told Indian Express, “He told the team management that he has mental fatigue because he had been on the road continuously and wanted to spend time with his family back home. Instead, he chose to travel to Dubai and was seen partying.”
The reports claimed that selectors were unhappy with Ishan as he was seen partying with MS Dhoni. Also, he was seen in a quiz show during his break. Thus, it was also mentioned that due to his actions, the selectors might exclude him from the T20 World Cup team.
Afghanistan Captain Zadran confirms Rashid Khan’s exclusion
Rashid Khan, the star spinner of Afghanistan is not coming to India to play the T20I series. Captain Ibrahim Zadran confirms this news during the pre-match press conference. He also mentioned the fact that they will miss his presence in the team. However, they have some young talented players in the form of Naveen-Ul Haq and Mujeeb Zadran, who will get a chance to showcase their talent in the series.
“He is not originally fit. We will miss him in the series. We will struggle without Rashid Khan but one should be ready for any kind of situation,” said Zadran.
