It seems that wherever Cristiano Ronaldo goes, trouble follows him around in the recent past. After his ‘explosive’ interview with Piers Morgan, he was ‘terminated’ by Manchester United and didn’t get the payout for the rest of the season. At a time when he is preparing for Portugal’s opening game against Ghana, the 37-year-old has been slapped with a two-match ban.

It is important to understand that the ban doesn’t apply to the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022. In fact, it applies to the leagues in which he plays. Recently, he had a scuffle with a fan as he ‘broke’ the mobile fan of a fan back on April 9 this year. In his defense, the Portugal legend said that it is not easy to deal with difficult emotions and was concerned for his safety

“It is never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing.”

“Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game.”
“I would like to apologise for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship,” the Portugal striker wrote on Instagram.

Football association rejects Cristiano Ronaldo’s claims

On the other hand, Football Association (FA) has rejected the claims made by Portugal forward. They say that it was an “act born of frustration and annoyance rather than fear or concern for his wellbeing.” They also slapped financial fines as well.

“Cristiano Ronaldo has been suspended for two matches, fined £50,000 and warned as to his future conduct for a breach of FA Rule E3.

“The forward admitted that his conduct after the final whistle of the Premier League game between Manchester United FC and Everton FC on Saturday 9 April 2022 was improper. An independent Regulatory Commission found that his conduct was both improper and violent during a subsequent hearing, and imposed these sanctions.”
