Deepak Hooda to change team: Reports
Deepak Hooda has been a sensational performer for the Lucknow franchise in the Indian T20 League 2022. He has delivered with the bat at times when his team needed him the most. Notably, his equation with his fellow Lucknow team-mate Krunal Pandya has been as much the talk of the town as his performance on the field.
Notably, the two players fell out against each other during the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy last year. Hooda alleged that Pandya had verbally abused him and also threatened him about his future with the team. Consequently, changes his state for domestic competitions and shifted to playing for Rajasthan.
However, things have changed since the duo has shared the dressing room for Lucknow. The chemistry between the two has looked good on the field and apparently, the air between the two has cleared. Following the change in the relationship between the two the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) has requested Hooda to return to the state.
A BCA official spoke about the development with Indian Express. He has revealed that the state board is in contact with the all-rounder. “What has happened, has happened. We are trying to convince Hooda to come back and play for Baroda again. He too has now patched up with Krunal, so there is no reason left for not coming back to Baroda. We had already expressed our interest in him and it will be his decision. We are hoping that he agrees to it,”- said the BCA official.
Hooda called Krunal his bother earlier
Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya have seemed to be comfortable around one another while sharing the field for the Lucknow team. They have been celebrating each other’s success very spontaneously. Hooda had even called Pandya his brother and stated that everything is normal between them.
“Krunal Pandya is like my brother, and brothers do fight. We are playing with one aim, which is to win games for Lucknow,”- Hooda said during an interview with Dainik Jagran during the Indian T20 League 2022.
