The former India opening batter has led Delhi and Kolkata during his playing days. His first got the taste of captaincy with Delhi in 2009. Two years later, he was signed by Kolkata and was appointed as captain. The southpaw led the team from 2011 to 2017. In 2018, he moved to back to Delhi and led the team for half of the season before stepping down. He has led these teams in 129 games, winning 71 games, which is the third highest. The Kolkata team has also won two titles under him.
