Another Australian legend, Adam Gilchrist, holds the record for playing the most number of Test matches straight after his debut in 1999. During the timeline between 5th November 1999 and 24th January 2008, he played 96 Test matches without being dropped out.

Speaking about Gilchrist’s Test career, he played 96 Test matches where he scored 5570 runs in 137 innings. He batted with an average of 47.60 along with a strike rate of 81.95. As a wicket-keeper, he also was involved in 416 dismissals.
