India legend Sunil Gavaskar started to inspire the whole nation with his batting abilities  He played 108 ODI matches where he scored 3092 runs at an average of 35.13. He also batted at a strike rate of 62.26.

However, his one knock came under a lot of scrutiny. It was his unbeaten 36 runs off 174 balls while chasing 335 runs in a World Cup match against England. He batted throughout the innings and India managed to score only 132 runs in 60 overs.
