Star Indian batter Virat Kohli has finally regained his form in the longest format of the game as he scored 186 runs in the final Test Australia in Ahmedabad. This was Kohli’s 28th Test hundred and the 75th century across all formats in international cricket. He scored a hundred in red-ball cricket for the first time since November 2019.

Kohli’s form will be crucial for India in the final of the Test Championship against the Aussies. Both India and Australia will lock horns again at The Oval on June 7 to clinch the Test mace. Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg praised the 34-year-old for his performance over the past few months, and also expected him to go big in the final against Australia.

Hogg has also urged people to not compare Kohli with Sachin Tendulkar as Sachin was able to play more Test matches. The Indian legend has featured in 200 Tests, which is unlikely to be repeated by any modern cricketer due to the craze of T20 cricket.

“Hopefully, we see the best of Kohli again. I think that there was too much pressure on Kohli in the last 2-3 years. The COVID, captaincy, and more cricket being played,” Hogg said on his YouTube Channel.

“Don’t compare him with Sachin Tendulkar, because he was able to play more Test matches, and did not have to play IPL for the most part of his career. I also think he is going to make a big one in the WTC Final as well,” he further added.

‘I feel very sorry for KL Rahul’ – Bradd Hogg

Hogg also mentioned KL Rahul in his video, where he said that he felt bad for the Indian opener after he was dropped from the playing XI in the last two Tests. He also expects to see Rahul in the Indian squad for the Test Championship final as he has a good record in England.

“I feel very sorry for KL Rahul because he has been put in different positions for the Indian team throughout the last 4-5 years. At the start of the WTC, he kept India afloat with a couple of crucial hundreds,” Hogg said.

“Very disappointed to see him dropped. But we will have to see whether the team plays Gill over Rahul in the WTC Final, because Rahul has done well in England,” the former cricketer further added.

Rahul has also been removed as the vice-captain of the team after India announced their squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia, where Hardik Pandya will lead the side in the first game as Rohit Sharma will be unavailable due to family commitments.
