Horns of a dilemma: KL Rahul and Rahul Dravid is all set to take huge decisions before the 1st T20

2. KL Rahul’s opening partner: The Indian squad for the South Africa series has two great talented and young opening batters who could be paired up with KL Rahul. One of them is the swashbuckling left-handed wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan. The other one is the ever-elegant right-handed batter Ruturaj Gaikwad.
But the problem for Rahul will be the fact that neither of the two batters has in the best of their forms in the Indian T20 League 2022. While Gaikwad scored 268 runs in the tournament at an average of 26.28 and a strike rate of 126,46, Ishan scored 418 runs at an average of 32.15 and a strike rate of 120.11. But despite an inferior strike rate, it is expected that Ishan Kishan will be taking the field in the first match for a right-hand- left-hand combination.
