The funny conversations between Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal regarding opening the batting for Rajasthan have resumed. Last month, ahead of the ongoing Indian T20 League, Chahal had asked Buttler whether he can open the innings alongside the latter. The leg-spinner had posted a tweet saying if it is retweeted by 10000 people, he will open the batting with the English keeper-batter.

That tweet got more than 10000 tweets and then the 2019 World Cup winner’s reaction was recorded by Rajasthan’s social media team. After this, the Jind-born player asked whether he could open the innings with Buttler. The right-hander didn’t say anything but put his hand on his forehand. All-rounder James Neesham was seen laughing in the background as well.

The conversation around the opening slot has once again started by the 31-year-old. In reply, the Taunton-born player sarcastically agreed. He added that ever since Chahal has turned up for the 2008 winners, the latter has been asking to bat at the opening slot. The opening batter for Rajasthan further added that he needs to keep scoring runs to keep Chahal out of contention.

“Absolutely! Ever since you turned up this year, you have been putting pressure on the opening spot. Have to take my time to score some runs to keep you on the outside,” Jos Buttler told Yuzvendra Chahal in a video posted on the Indian T20 league website.

On April 3, Buttler scored a 66-ball century against his former team Mumbai at the D.Y. Patil Stadium. The innings helped the team put up a total of 193/8. While defending, the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Chahal made sure that the opposition doesn’t chase down the target. The leg-spinner took two wickets in the game
