IPL 2021 – David Miller – Chriss Morris turned the match for RR after a poor start
RR registered a thrilling victory against DC from the jaws of defeat in match number 7 of IPL 2021. Batting first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, DC posted a total of 147 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, powered by the half-century by the skipper Rishabh Pant. DC got a poor start as they lost 4 wickets for 37 runs in 6.5 overs with Jaydev Unadkat taking 3 wickets. After that, Pant took the charge and took the innings further while wickets kept falling on the other end. The wicketkeeper batter got out after scoring 51 runs off 32 balls with nine boundaries.
Chasing the winning total, RR got a disastrous start as they went on to lose 5 wickets for 42 runs in 9.2 overs as Chris Woakes, Avesh Khan and Kagiso Rabada struck for DC. After that, David Miller took the innings further and got out after scoring 62 runs in 43 balls to bring RR back into the match. After Miller’s wicket, Chirs Morris took the charge and smashed 36 runs off 18 balls. The South African finished the match with a six as RR chased the total in 19. 4 overs losing 7 wickets.
