‘It is the team who wins at the end’ – Pat Cummins reacts to Mohammed Hafiz’s remarks on Australia’s win in Test Series against Pakistan
Australia and Pakistan clashed against each other for the boxing day test match in the 2nd Test of Pakistan’s tour of Australia 2023. Australia scored 318 runs in their first innings while dismissing Pakistan for 264 runs on day two of the match.
Australia then put up 262 runs on the scoreboard and got a lead over 300 runs and in the end, they defeated Pakistan by 79 runs by dismissing them for just 237 runs. Pakistan have never won a Test series in Australia and this was the real challenge for the team to break their streak. The Pakistan coach Mohammed Hafiz recently discussed how Pakistan played well as a team and the Australian captain Pat Cummins reacted to his statements.
“Ahhhh. Cool. They played well. I am glad we got the win. It doesn’t really matter, does it? It is the team who wins at the end,” said Pat Cummins while reacting to Hafiz’s remarks.
Mohammad Hafiz on Pakistan losing the Test Series against Australia at the MCG
Hafeez recently talked to ESPNcricinfo about Pakistan’s loss in the Test Series against Australia, he said, “We played better cricket as a team. Our batting intent was better, and while bowling, we were hitting the right areas.”
“We made some mistakes, conceding 52 extras which really hurt us. And then crumbling from 124 for 1 to lose five main batters, that was a crucial moment we couldn’t win in the game,” he added.
“I feel like these are the areas that need to be addressed. I spoke to [Rizwan] and he’s a very honest person. He said he did not even feel that it touched anywhere near the gloves. And what we saw, there should be conclusive evidence to reverse the decision of the umpire. That’s what I know. The umpire gave it not out and there was no conclusive kind of evidence where the decision has to be turned over,” Hafiz said.
