Shane Warne’s legacy was not limited to the cricketing world as the king ruled hearts of other athletes as well. Recently, in an A-League football match between Adelaide United and Newcastle Jets, United star George Blackwood paid a heartfelt tribute to the king spinner. After Blackwood found the net within three minutes, he picked up the ball and bowled it towards the corner flag, emulating Warne’s delivery style. This was a tribute from the soccer star to his childhood hero.

During half-time, Blackwood was heard saying – “I loved Shane Warne growing up. I bowled leggies so a bit of tribute to him.” Adelaide United ultimately won the match by a 2-1 margin.
