‘Last tak tikta to 150 banata’ – Fans react as Yashasvi Jaiswal hits a blistering 77 off 43 for RR against CSK in IPL 2023

Rajasthan Royals (RR) opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal played a blistering knock against Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing match of IPL 2023 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. The 21-year-old scored 77 runs off 43 balls hitting eight fours and fours sixes as RR posted a total of 202 runs losing 5 wickets after electing to bat first.

RR had a flying start as Jaiswal and Jos Buttler put up a partnership of 86 runs before the fall of the first wicket in 8.2 overs. Buttler got out after scoring 27 runs off 21 balls with four boundaries. After that, Jaiswal added another 39 runs with the skipper Sanju Samson for the second wicket. He completed his half-century in just 26 balls. Samson got out in the first balls of the 14th over by Tushar Deshpande after run-a-ball 17 runs. A couple of deliveries later, Jaiswal also lost his wicket as he ended up giving a catch to Ajinkya Rahane at the point region trying to take on Deshpande.

A couple of overs later, RR lost another wicket as Shimron Hetmyer got bowled by Maheesh Theekshana after scoring just 8 runs. After that, Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal took charge of the innings as they both added 48 runs for the fifth wicket.

Jaiswal continued his great form in IPL 2023

Jurel played a quickfire knock of 34 runs off just 15 deliveries hitting three fours and two sixes before getting runout just two balls before the end of the innings. On the other hand, Padikkal remained unbeaten on 27 runs off 13 balls hitting five boundaries. For CSK, Deshpande took 2 wickets in his four overs but ended up conceding 42 runs. While Theekshana and Ravindra Jadeja shared a wicket each.

Jaiswal had a great outing in the ongoing season of IPL so far. The young batter has amassed 304 in the eight matches played in the season so far at an average of 38.00 including three half-centuries. He has been a consistent performer for RR in the last couple of season.

Coming back to the match, CSK didn’t had great start chasing 202 runs till now, as they lost 4 wickets under 100 runs till now.
