‘Netherlands ki bowling acchi hai ya pitch ka Kamal hai?’ – Fans react as Netherlands bowl 3 maiden overs against New Zealand

New Zealand and Netherlands are currently locking horns in the 6th match of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Both New Zealand and Netherlands have played one match each before in the tournament. While New Zealand chased the target against England in their first match, the Netherlands failed to win against Pakistan. 

However as the Netherlands opted to bowl first against New Zealand, the bowlers delivered 3 unplayable maiden overs in the beginning of the first innings, which left the fans surprised. The first and third over of the game was bowled by Aryan Dutt and the second over was bowled by Ryan Klein. New Zealand’s starting opening batter, Devon Conway and Will Young were left surprised with the three maiden overs.  

“We’re going to have a bowl first, from the last game it seemed like bowling conditions were better earlier in the day and no real dew factor. Were in a good place. Two changes, Sybrand Engelbrecht and Ryan Klein come in for us”, said Scott Edwards, captain of Netherlands.

“We would’ve had a bowl, looks like a decent surface. We played a practice game on this wicket last week so happy to put up runs on the board. Was a fantastic performance last game, the bowlers did a fantastic job up front and then Devon and Rachin came out there and played brilliantly. Lockie Ferguson comes in for James Neesham”, said Tom Latham, captain of New Zealand.
