After losing the first match in the super-over, New Zealand locked horns against Sri Lanka in the second T20I at the University Oval, in Dunedin on Wednesday, April 5 where star New Zealand pacer Adam Milne broke Pathum Nissanka’s bat with his thunderous delivery.

The Blackcaps defeated the Asian champions by nine wickets and Milne was awarded the Player of the Match award for his brilliant bowling performance. The series decider will take place on Saturday, April 8, at the Queenstown Events Centre.

When the Kiwi speedster shattered Sri Lankan opener Nissanka’s bat handle in the second T20I game, Milne created a memorable scene. The bat’s splice was hit by the skidding ball, which finally destroyed the handle. Milne got a five-wicket haul during his destructive spell. He became the third Blackcaps seamer to achieve this feat in the T20Is.

Milne scalped three wickets in the 19th over and Charith Asalanka was the first one to get dismissed. He delivered two stunning toe crushers to conclude Sri Lanka’s innings by removing Pramod Madushan and Dilshan Madhushanka, respectively. Milne eventually finished with figures of 5/26, after bowling his four-over spell.
