Indian cricket team suffered another loss in the 5-match T20I series against West Indies after they lost the 2nd T20I by 2 wickets at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Sunday, August 7. With this win, the Caribbean side have taken a 2-0 lead over the Men in Blue and are just 1 win away to win the series.

Meanwhile, Windies’ star batter Nicholas Pooran was fined 15% of his match fee as he violated the Level 1 Code of Conduct by the apex Cricket body. The incident took place during India’s first innings of the 2nd match. In the 4th over of the innings, Pooran showed his dissatisfaction with the umpire as he believed that the on-field umpire invoked a player review even after knowing that the batter was clearly out.

A brilliant all-round performance by West Indies

Talking about Pooran’s performance in the 2nd match, he was brilliant with the bat as he played a brilliant 67-run knock off just 40 deliveries which included 6 fours and 4 sixes. Pooran was the only batter who looked confident while playing big shots while all the other batters were struggling on the other end.

His knock helped the team to chase the target and win the match by 2 wickets. Pooran might have failed to finish the match but it was enough for the upcoming batters to take their team to victory. Things were getting worse for Windies in the end but the tailender batters Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph held their nerves and stitched an unbeaten 26-run stand.

Indian skipper Hardik Pandya was brutally trolled by the fans on social media for not using Yuzvendra Chahal’s last over as he was bowling brilliantly. Chahal bowled 3 overs and picked up 2 wickets while conceding only 19 runs. Earlier while India’s innings, Tilak Varma smashed his maiden half-century and helped the team to achieve a fighting total of 152 runs.
