The summit clash of the ODI World Cup 2023 is currently in progress with Australia winning the toss and electing to bowl first. On the other hand, the Men In Blue wanted to bat first as revealed by skipper Rohit Sharma. While the ongoing game is being played neck-to-neck, there are few milestones to achieve for a few players, In this listicle, we will discuss three milestones that can be broken.

Three milestones that can be broken during ODI World Cup 2023 final

1. David Warner can break Rohit Sharma’s record for most runs in the World Cup

Ahead of the match, the left-handed Warner needed only eight runs to get past Sharma if the latter had got out on zero. However, the latter has gotten 47 runs in 31 balls. This means when the Aussies come out to chase, Warner needs to get 55 runs to get past Sharma in terms of runs scored in the World Cup career. Apart from this, Warner (6) needs one more hundred to equal Sharma’s record of seven hundred in ODI World Cups.

2. David Warner can get to more than 7000 runs in ODI cricket

As he announced a few months back, the ongoing ODI World Cup is one of his last assignments in his 50-over career. If he gets 75 runs or more, he will get past 7000 runs, joining the league of six Australian players including 1999 World Cup-winning skipper Steve Waugh.

3. Glenn Maxwell can become the seventh player to score 1000 runs in World Cups

The all-rounder played his first World Cup eight years back at home and became a World Cup by the end of the tournament. Currently, he is playing his third World Cup and is close to getting 1000 runs in his ODI WC career. In the ongoing tournament, he became the first Aussie to score an ODI double hundred. It came against Afghanistan in a must-win game after being reduced to 91/7.
