During the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia, a Palestine supporter invaded the pitch in the 14th over. In the game, the home team, India was asked to bat first after losing the toss. They had a great start with Rohit Sharma hitting 47 off 31 balls including four fours and three sixes. However, with the wickets of Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer, the team was in trouble at 80/3.
In the 14th over, when the scorecard read 94/3, a Palestine supporter invaded the pitch. He came close to former India skipper Virat Kohli. Later on, he was arrested by the security forces inside the stadium. For the unversed, the Israel-Palestine conflict has gotten the attention of the World once again. On October 7, a music festival in Israel was attacked by the terrorist organization, Hamas.

Since then, a lot of people have been kept hostage by the Hamas. In reply, the Israel Defense Forces have attacked Hamas multiple times and during this, a lot of Palestinian civilians have lost their lives. Meanwhile, talking about the game, Kohli scored another fifty of his ODI career before playing the ball on the stumps against skipper Pat Cummins. Kohli and KL Rahul added 68 runs while fighting out good bowling from the Aussies. At one stage, the team had lost three wickets for 81 runs.
While Kohli has gotten out, Rahul is batting on 48 with Ravindra Jadeja being promoted to number six to disturb the bowling of the five-time winners. At the time of writing, the two-time winners have amassed 169/4 in 34.1 overs, going around five runs per over.
