‘Pujara is most underrated but a true legend’ – Fans React as Cheteshwar Pujara scores century for Sussex in Royal London One-Day Cup

County Cricket has paved an incredible way for Cheteshwar Pujara to be back in the Indian cricket team. Pujara recently got a golden opportunity to be back in the Indian cricket Team’s Test squad, which he, unfortunately, blew away in the prestigious World Test Championship 2023 final against Australia. 

Meanwhile, Pujara recently scored two back-to-back mind-blowing centuries for Sussex against Northamptonshire (106) and Somerset (117*) in the Royal London One-Day Cup. After showing his masterclass in County cricket, the star batter still hopes to be back in the Indian cricket team’s test squad. Pujara believes that there is still a lot of cricket left in him. 

Cheteshwar Pujara on being back in the Indian team 

Due to the ODI season for the Indian team, with the Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup 2023, India will play their next test series against South Africa in December. Hence, Pujara has a few months to prepare well and be available for selection for the tournament. 

“Look, I always try and control the things which I can. It’s always about getting as many runs as possible in whatever games I play,” said Cheteshwar Pujara during an exclusive chat with the Sussex Cricket 

“I am still in the scheme of things. So, I hope that the moment I start scoring more runs in first-class games, I will be back in the team. But I will try and be in present, try and take one game at a time,” added Cheteshwar Pujara. 

“We are not going to play any more Test matches in the next two to three months. The next Test series is in South Africa in December. So, there is a long way to go,” concluded Cheteshwar Pujara.
