‘Rahul Dravid need to be removed’ – Fans urge Indian Cricket Board to replace Rahul Dravid as coach in India T20I setup

India’s head coach Rahul Dravid has been facing the heat after India’s loss in the semifinal of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. When he was appointed the coach, there was a lot of hope among the Indian fans. After all, he is one of the legendary who understands the game and also did well with the India U19 team with two Colts World Cups as a coach.
However, after India got knocked out, the calls for his sacking have been gaining voices. Notably, a lot of fans have been pointing out the times India didn’t do well in the last year or so. Also, some feel that the Men In Blue need a different coach for the T20I setup while Dravid might continue in the other formats.
Our tactics with the ball didn’t work: Rahul Dravid
The former India skipper spoke to the media after the loss. He spoke about the tactics the team tried with the ball which didn’t work. Speaking on pacers’ length, he said that they tried to bowl full lengths to get some swing that didn’t happen. About spin bowlers, the Banglaore player said that they weren’t allowed to get settled.
“We tried to attack a little bit with our lengths up front,” Dravid explained in the post-match press conference.
“We thought that was a tactic. They played that really well.
“The ball didn’t swing here probably as much as it has in other parts of Australia or in other conditions. Played a little bit into their hands, and class players like that, both Buttler and Hales, I thought their partnership was fantastic today.
“I think they just put the pressure on us, never let that go, and even when our spinners came on on a wicket that we thought we might be able to control the game, they really counterattacked our spinners, as well, and put our spinners under a lot of pressure.”

How big a role does optics play…A free going Shastri is considered “not serious” and Dravid “sir” is respected for his “commitment to the cause”
