‘Ranked number 1 bro’– Fans react to Babar Azam’s failure vs Australia in ODI World Cup 2023
Babar Azam continued his poor run of form with the bat with yet another failure during the ODI World Cup game on Friday. The Pakistan skipper could only score 18 before he was caught by Pat Cummins off Adam Zampa.
Apart from his fifty against India the 29-year-old has been a repeated failure with the bat. The game on Friday is a key encounter as far as the points table are concerned. Pakistan are currently at number 4 in the table
The Australian team meanwhile are giving it their all to win this encounter. Pat Cummins’s led side are in the 6th place in the table after 1 win from 3 games. Their only win of the ODI World Cup 2023 game was against Sri Lanka in Lucknow.
Babar Azam falls for low score yet again
Chasing 368 to win, Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique had given their team a good start. Once Shafique fell for 64 runs, it was Babar Azam who came to bat. The Pakistani skipper looked in good touch as he got off the mark with a four. Just when it seemed as if the tide was turning Adam Zampa bowled one short ball as Babar Azam went for a pull. Pat Cummins took a smart catch to end the innings for Babar Azam as he walked back to the hut for 18.
In the first game of the ODI World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands, Babar Azam could score only 5. This was followed by 10 runs against Sri Lanka when he was caught by Kusal Mendis off Dilshan Madushanka. It seemed as if the Pakistani skipper had found form when he stroked a fine fifty against India. But this latest performance by Babar Azam showed that the ODI World Cup 2023 campaign has been poor so far.
Mohammad Siraj had gone through the defense of Babar Azam during the game on Saturday in Ahmedabad. The wicket of the Pakistani skipper opened the floodgates as the men in green lost 8 wickets for 36 runs. Not just the Pakistani fans but also every cricket fan across the world will hope Babar Azam finds his form. The Pakistani team and its fans need its captain firing in a bid to make it to the final four.
Here’s how the fans reacted:
