If we talk about the encounter, PBKS skipper, Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and elected to bat first. The visitors, while batting first, scored a total of 179 runs for the loss of seven wickets after the completion of the first innings. The highest scorer for their side was Dhawan, who scored 57 runs off 47 balls with nine fours and a six. In the end, Shahrukh Khan played a quickfire knock of 21 runs from just eight balls with three fours and a six.

For the home side, the pick of the bowler was Varun Chakravarthy, who snapped three wickets in his spell of four overs where he conceded 26 runs in his spell. Two wickets were grabbed by young Harshit Rana in his spell of three overs where he conceded 33 runs in his spell. One wicket each was bagged by Suyash Sharma and Nitish Rana in their respective spell where they conceded 26 runs and seven runs.
KKR, while chasing a target of 180 runs, reached the total on the last ball of the innings. The top run-scorer for the side was Rana who scored 51 runs from 38 balls which included six fours and a six. Star West Indies all-rounder, Andre Russell played a match-winning knock where he scored 42 runs off 23 balls with three fours and three sixes in his innings.
“I didn’t think about the last ball. Even when I hit those five sixes, I hadn’t thought much. I was playing on the merit of the ball. I had the belief in me that I could finish the game. I have got used to it, sometimes I bat at 5, sometimes at 6, 7, I practice that way. There is no particular way I like to celebrate,” Rinku was quoted as saying after the match
