Today on the 30th of March a memorial was arranged celebration the colorful life of the icon at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The whole cricketing world was seen giving tributes to the Australian icon on the day. During the ceremony Warne’s three children Brooke, Summer and Jackson Warne gave heartbreaking speeches remembering their father.
Warne’s eldest daughter Brooke Warne broke down during her speech in the event. She talked about what she misses the most about her father. Brooke spoke about the anguish that her father will never see her or her siblings achieve the major milestones of life such as marriage and kids. She seemed emotional about the fact her dad will not be able to watch her get the work promotion she was working towards or will not be able to share with the family the exciting plans of his upcoming life.
She said- “I could go on forever about what we’re going to miss out on, but nothing would be more upsetting about how much I already miss you, Dad.”
“I feel like you’re on holiday, because you were always working out of Australia, but I know that’s not the case. But what makes me the saddest is, I will never get to wrap my arms around you and give you the biggest hug and rest my chin on your chest.”- she further added.
She called her father the shining star of her life who will continue shining on them. She also spoke about the achievements that they will get during their life and make their father proud of them and also mentioned how proud they were on Warne’s life achievements.
Towards the end of her speech she struggled to maintain her composure, while speaking about her uncanny similarities with her father and the common love of food.
