Six most expensive players bought by Mumbai in Indian T20 League history
3. Krunal Pandya (INR 8.8 Cr)
Krunal Pandya was an integral part of the Mumbai team from his debut till the 2021 season. In 2018, Mumbai opted not to retain him ahead of the mega auction. Mumbai then went ahead to bring him back to their team using the Right to Match card for a price of INR 8.8 Cr. This year, Krunal will play for the newly introduced Lucknow team.
He has played 84 matches in the Indian T20 League, where he has scored at a strike rate of 138.54. He has also picked up 51 wickets in those matches.
2. Rohit Sharma (INR 9.2 Cr)
In 2011, Mumbai bought Rohit Sharma for a hefty price of INR 9.2 Cr. This has been probably the most profitable investment for the franchise. After 2 years in 2013, Rohit was handed over the captaincy of the team. Rohit turned around the fortunes of the team, leading them to their maiden Indian T20 League title. After this, he captained Mumbai to four more titles in the tournament. Till the mega auction of 2022, Rohit was the costliest buy for Mumbai.
