Pakistan and New Zealand are locking horns in the first Test of the two-match series at the National Stadium, Karachi. Both teams have been ruled out of the race for the finals of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle 2021-23. The defending champions, New Zealand has won only two games out of nne played so far. On the other hand, Pakistan managed only four wins in 12 games.

With this, both teams are just completing the ongoing WTC cycle. Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Ahmed taking Pakistan into a strong position

Meanwhile, in the ongoing first Test, the World Number Six Test side, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They had a poor start as they lost four wickets for 110 runs. Not to forget, they lost the first three wickets for just 48 runs. Saud Shakeel (22) got a start but failed to go on.
