Pakistan and New Zealand are locking horns in the first Test of the two-match series at the National Stadium, Karachi. Both teams have been ruled out of the race for the finals of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle 2021-23. The defending champions, New Zealand has won only two games out of nne played so far. On the other hand, Pakistan managed only four wins in 12 games.

Also, just recently, the Babar Azam-led side is coming off a historic defeat against England, who played their last series of the cycle. In the three-match series, the home side was clean-swept 0-3. For the first time in their history, they have been clean swept at home. However, fans are cheering for the home side against New Zealand from inside the stadium.

However, one young fan took it to a different level. Apparently, Pakistan’s mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed took 17 wickets against the Three Lions. The former Peshawar Zalmi player in the PSL is the rising star for the team. Meanwhile, a fan brought a placard comparing Ahmed and Argentina football legend Lionel Messi’s cricketin stats. The screenshot of the Placard is doing rounds on the internet.

Babar Azam and Sarfaraz Ahmed taking Pakistan into a strong position

Meanwhile, in the ongoing first Test, the World Number Six Test side, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They had a poor start as they lost four wickets for 110 runs. Not to forget, they lost the first three wickets for just 48 runs. Saud Shakeel (22) got a start but failed to go on. However, the likes of skipper Babar Azam and former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed have stitched a partnership of 162 runs. The latter is making his comeback in the red ball format after 47 months.
