Indian Test Team is getting ready for the final Test match against England, starting from July 1, 2022. After having a break from the home T20I series against South Africa, big names like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were back in the squad. However, India dealt with a major blow as KL Rahul got ruled out from the series due to his groin injury.

Previously, he was assigned to be the captain of India for that T20I series against the Proteas. But, on the eve of the series opener, he got ruled out of the series due to that groin injury. Thus, the captaincy responsibilities got shifted to Rishabh Pant.

KL Rahul is going to take two more months for recovery – as per reports

After that incident, an official of the Indian Cricket Board said that the Board will keep monitoring his situation and he will be sent to Germany for further treatment. Currently, this Indian opener is in Germany as he started his recovery process there.

However, as reported to Espncricinfo, this batter needs to take two months more to be fully recovered from the current injury. On 29 June 2022, he shared a photo of himself with a full smile on his Twitter account. He wrote that he had a successful surgery despite these tough couple of weeks.

Here is the tweet:

The caption, he wrote, stated: “It’s been a tough couple of weeks but the surgery was successful. I’m healing and recovering well. My road to recovery has begun. Thank you for your messages and prayers. See you soon,” Now, talking to PTI, an official of the Indian Cricket Board said that after his return to India, he will start his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy. “He will be resting for a few days and then his physical rehabilitation will start at the NCA. That will take a few weeks before he starts with his regular net session and let’s see if he can make a comeback in the Asia Cup. But that could be a touch and go,” he added.

KL Rahul had been a pivotal part of India across all the three formats and thus, ahead of this year’s 20-20 World Cup in Australia, it will be a huge setback for India if he does not get over this injury scare fully.
