‘They were destroyed’ – Aakash Chopra analyses Pakistan’s struggle in Super 4s match against India
Former India player Aakash Chopra recently analyzed India’s game against Pakistan on his YouTube channel. Aakash Chopra exclusively talked about Pakistan Cricket team’s batting performance against India’s bowling attack. The Indian team dismissed Pakistan for 128 runs as they made a huge jump in the net run rate by a victory of 228 runs.
Pakistan’s batting line-up miserably collapsed as Kuldeep Yadav took a successful five wicket haul and Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Shardul Thakur took one wicket each. Aakash Chopra also discussed how cricket fraternity always talks about Indian players’ performances against Australia or Pakistan, but they still have not talked about the issues faced by Babar Azam against India as he still lacks in scoring a half-century against the latter in ODI cricket.
Aakash Chopra on Pakistan’s batting performance against India
“Jasprit Bumrah started it. Imam-ul-Haq, who was struggling at the start, got an outside edge, and a good catch was taken in the slips. It seemed like Fakhar Zaman had come on a tourist visa because Bumrah was bowling and the keeper was catching the ball repeatedly”, said Aakash Chopra.
“Then Hardik Pandya came and dismissed Babar Azam. Now that’s a question – we say our players will be judged by how they fare against Australia or Pakistan, then why not Babar Azam? He still does not have even a single ODI fifty against India. So he is struggling a little bit against India”, he added.
“Shardul Thakur came and dismissed Mohammad Rizwan and then Kuldeep Yadav. He took as many as five wickets. Pakistan are weak against leg-spin for some reason, don’t know why. They tend to struggle against leg-spinners. Kuldeep is any case a left-arm left-arm leg-spinner, so the problems increase even further. They were destroyed. Eight wickets fell, two guys didn’t come to bat – Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf. It was a defeat that you don’t forget easily”, said Aakash Chopra.
