Three Big Records Are Set To Be Broken In The Ongoing Test Match Between England And India
The Indian Test Team is now busy playing the fifth rescheduled Test match in Birmingham against England. This match got canceled last year due to the outbreak of Covid-19 and therefore, it has been rescheduled this year.
Even, India will also play a three-match ODI and three-match T20I series after this. Speaking about the match, Jasprit Bumrah became the new captain of India to lead the Team in this match. The regular captain, Rohit Sharma tested Covid-19 positive during the four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire. Hence, he got ruled out and now, he is expected to come back for the T20I series as captain.
England is coming off after whitewashing the Kiwis at home in the recently concluded three-Test match series. Under their new captain and coach, they will look to win this match to avoid a series defeat against India. On the other hand, India will find it tough but will try to deliver another stellar performance to win the series on English soil.
From both sides, several big names like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and James Anderson are playing. Interestingly, some of these players are inches away from such big achievements in the longest format of the game.

Now, this batter needs 79 runs more to become the highest run-scorer for England against India in Test cricket. As of now, he is in the third position with 2353 runs. Ahead of him, only his former teammate, Alastair Cook scored 2431 runs, and the Australian great, Ricky Pointing scored 2555 runs.
