3. Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar would be a good option in place of Jasprit Bumrah as he would provide three overs at the top, but it remains to be seen whether the Australian conditions would suit his type of bowling. The other advantage with Chahar is that he is a much-improved death bowler, and he will provide the added batting depth down the order.

Chahar had a great Indian T20 League in 2021 for Chennai where he picked up 23 wickets in 23 games and turned out to be Chennai’s chief architect in the 2021 winning Indian T20 League campaign. Chahar also holds the record for the best bowling figures in T20I cricket for an Indian which was six wickets for seven runs against Bangladesh to help India win the series 2-1 in 2019.
