Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has stated that a high-level committee headed by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto will decide whether Pakistan will travel to India in order to participate in the ODI World Cup 2023 or not. The World Cup is scheduled to take place in India in the month of October and November after the completion of Asia Cup 2023 which will be played at Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

The committee will look into also the aspects such as relations between India and Pakistan, and the government policy of keeping sports and policy apart, and they will also check the situation in India for the player, fans, and media before giving the report to Sharif. The Pakistan PM is also the patron-in-chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Both the Apex Cricket Council and Indian Cricket Board have released the schedule for the upcoming major tournament which is scheduled to start from October 5. The PCB has stated that Men in Green’s participation would be depending on whether the government gives clearance or not.
